Brief Info about Krasnoyarsk-Yenisey Rotary Club The first meeting of the club was conducted on the 7th of July, 2007.The club was chartered on the 12th of Feb, 2008. The Charter Ceremony was organized o the 8th of April, 2008.        Major projects of 2008/2009:  1. Creation of a Krasnoyarsk Bank of Pacemakers for low-income patients at the cardio department of a provincial clinical hospital for those who require surgical treatment of complicated disturbed heart rhythms. The bank is organized as a special center of distribution of free cardio pacemakers and implanted defibrillators from Heartbeat International, an international supplier based in Tampa, FL. The contribution the club is making is the payment of annual $5000 fee, coordination of supplies of pacemakers from the US to Krasnoyarsk, coordination of the project with the Provincial Administration, and monitoring of a permitted use of the supplied equipment.     2. An international project to supply the department of oncology/haematology of the Provincial Paediatric Hospital with infusion pumps. Infusion pumps are not only required for to treat oncology diseases, but also for treatment of complications of chemo courses. The project budget is $3000, the number of supplied units is 10. We anticipate purchasing these infusion pumps with the matching grant. Currently we are raising funds in Krasnoyarsk and are looking for an international partner for the project.  3. Assistance to the local branch of Russian Society of Visually Impaired Persons with the purchase of required aid equipment. 4. Participation in PolioPlus program of Rotary International to vaccinate children of India against Polio.  5. Participation in Group Study Exchange program to offer an opportunity to exchange young businesspersons and young professionals.  6. Participation in Rotary Youth Exchange Program. The idea of the program is to create bridges of friendship between the people of Earth. Rotarians of Krasnoyarsk have hosted exchange student from the US, Canada, Sweden, and sponsored Russian exchange students to go to the US and Belgium. 7. Participation in the Masterpieces for Everyone project of Krasnoyarsk Chapter of Russian Society of Artists and Surikov Foundation for Arts. 8. Participation in the international Doctors of the World to the Kids project to provide dental services to the kids of correctional school of Beryozovka, Beryozovsky Juvenile Rehabilitation Centre, and children of low income families of Beryozovka rural community by a group of dentist volunteers from the US in a framework of cooperation with Medicine: Arm-In-Arm, Inc. 9. Donation of financial funds to the children of Nevelsk community of Sakhalin island, who have suffered an earthquake in 2007. 10. Assistance to Alex Griffith and his project of construction of kids’ playground in the 20th Community Hospital. Alex was adopted by an American couple 13 years ago and now decided to thank the hospital, where he was born with the construction of a playground for minor patients of the hospital.   Other projects feature: assistance to Beryozovsky Juvenile Rehabilitation Centre with construction materials, organization of social functions for them, including visits to the theatres, organization of contests and entertainment, etc.; assistance to boarding schools for disabled kids in a way of purchasing of special adopted toys, bicycles, sleds, home appliances, etc; assistance to child suffering from Tourette's syndrome.
