Rotaract Club of Moscow-East

Chartered on 20th of December 2006. Most of the members came to Moscow from different Russian cities (Saint Petersburg, Rostov, Krasnoyarsk, Novosibirsk, Barnaul, Irkutsk and even Magadan) where they used to be rotaractors. So in spite of the young age of the club its members are experienced and efficient! At the moment there are 10 active members in the club. Dasha Alexandrova is president 2008-09 and Vera Popova is DRR 2008-09, District 2220.

Rotaractors realize a number of social projects in several orphanages (collecting clothes, books, buying diapers for the children, organizing gaming activities). One of the most important things is contact with orphans; since not many people visit them, talk and play with them. That is why a lot of club’s projects are aimed at communication (making New Year toys, playing thematic games, watching a cartoon on a big screen, beauty contests “Miss Spring”, etc).

Another important thing is education: one of the projects of Rotaract club Moscow-East was presenting a computer for the orphans; another project – organization of lectures in orphanage about harm of smoking and alcohol.
