We would like to thank The Rotary Club of Kapa'a, Hawaii for providing the Out-of-District funding to make this project possible.
These two photos show the old equipment. See the new below. These photos do not show the poor condition of the old playground equipment but the kids all express gratitude for the marked improvement of their playground. The playground is on common ground between a school and the orphanage,

About 500 children will be able to use this new equipment.
This project created a much improved playground at Orphanage # 5 in Irkutsk. The project involved a USAID/IREX U.S. goverment grant for $ 20,000 to pay for equipment and installation. This is a matching grant project, but it is not a traditional Rotary matching grant. The Kapa'a, Hawaii club's money has been more than matched by the U.S. goverment, The Rotary Club of Irkutsk, and a District 5010 District Simplified Grant . The figures are listed below:
Rotary Club of Irkutsk $500 IREX 15,000 OrphanAct (incentive grant) 2,500 Rotary Club of Kapa'a Hawaii 1,000
Project total $20,000
