Project 134 – Sweet Dreams, Beds and Bed Clothes

This project has been generously funded by: The Rotary Club of Jerseyville, Illinois

The Rotary Club of Barnaul hopes to raise $6,000 to replace the dilapidated bedding at the Rebrikha Corrective School-Orphanage, in Rebrikha, about 100 km away from Barnaul.  There are about 120 children at this school, ages 6 – 17.  The Barnaul Club and their adjunct Rotoract Club work closely with this school.

Previous projects:

Sewing Classes,

Housekeeping Classes,

A Play Room.

Barnaul Rotarians and Rotaractors have participated in an international sports competition involving kid from this school, Australia, USA and India. Annually the clubs help the school celebrate New Year’s and other holidays.

Barnaul Rotarians help the kids repair and clean the school’s areas.

Last fall, Rotarians and Rotaractors were surprised when they asked the kids what they needed.  Answer:  Soft Beds!

Their bedding appears to have been acquired many years ago and now looks terrible and smells worse.  Cotton-wool scraps serve as pillows and threadbare blankets provide little warmth.
