The project described below by the Rotary Club of Avachinsky is to fund equipment and a children's summer camp.  The club and other local Russian sponsors will pay for most of the funding.  They are asking others to fund up to $5000 to complete this project.  You may fund part or all of the $5000.  Photos related to the project and a complete project description is below.

Social importance of the project: Rotary club Avachinsky works very close with children’s homes (shelters) in Kamchatka region and with the great help and cooperation of OrphanAct has successfully realized several projects. These are a TV set and  a carpet for Children’s Regional Hospital for the Game zone, which in hospital refers to a "sun deck", and a color printer for Orphanage #6, which helps teach the children business practices and to produce colorful documents for the orphanage. The club annually helps with purchase of textbooks, New Year's gifts, organizes charitable concerts, and many other things. At active participation of Avachinsky Rotary club members have been lead recreational and regenerative works in territory of tourist center Pinachevo. It became one of the cultural centers for carrying out of national, ethnic and sports activities. Together with Rotary Club of Japan the necessary equipment which allows to provide with heat and light tourist camp has been got. Now it  allows to accept in a tourist center children in the age from 11 till 14 years during summer vacations. On the basis of the information of services of trusteeship and parent-teacher associations there will be gathered children who, have no financial opportunity to go to summer camps. Also there will be gathered children who are on care exclusively the grandmothers and cannot actively participate during summertime in various sports, cultural, improving activities. In traditional summer children's camps there are many children with their own specific abilities and it  does not allow to consider specific features for each child, as much as possible to open its abilities and positive qualities and to consider social and psychological features such groups of children. In the given camp besides professional instructors on tourism. volunteers of Rotary club Avachinsky will be involved and so it will be possible to surround with attention and care everyone. This camp will be not only a remarkable, useful, improving, and cognitive place. Its main advantage will be that care, love, attention that need so much.Members of the club and the invited experts will teach how: to form the attitude of collective work, to develop leadership qualities, vital skills of cooking, make a fire, the safety precautions of behavior in a wood and on water, bases of sports orientation; how to protect and keep surrounding nature.  

The goal of the project: - To create alternative of aimless and homeless carrying out of summer vacations; - To place children from orphanage and needy families in ecologically pure area of region; - To train children in bases of tourism, sports orientation, safe productive leisure (fishing, an alloy and ferries on the river, sports command games) - To distract children from hobbies for spirits, smoking.   

Purposes of the project: - To organize high-grade summer time for children during summer vacations; - To show children alternative of carrying out of rest. To impart interest to tourism, and active way of life. To teach skills of orientation in the wood. - To tech children of carefully concern about members of collective.-  To open non-realized potential of children. - To attach children to physical work: preparation of fire wood from a dry trees, set tables, cooking, fishing. - By attraction of professionals and volunteers to organize and lead on the basis of camp training to tourist skills. - Develop bases of nature protection activity and elements of ecological monitoring; - To let know and let feel the care of children from incomplete and needy families, warm up and show love to them to help to feel the importance and confidence of a life, - To wake interest and desire to live active and full useful hobbies life  

Description of tourist center “Pinachevo” Tourist camp “Pinachevo” is located in a picturesque part of area Elizovsky, on coast of fast small river Pinacheva, on border of Natural park "Pinachevo". Tourist camp includes small houses for residing with boiler rooms heating on 42 places, a dining room on 20 landing places with kitchen, administrative small houses, washstands, equipped fireplace for cooking. The territory of camp and its vicinity allow to spend various entertainment actions, competitions, sports competitions. There will be offered 4 time feeding. Tasty, fresh, healthy food prepared on wood furnaces and fires will be offered. Children will accept active labor feasible participation in processes of preparation of fire wood from a dry trees, setting tables, etc. Big attention is given to physical training of children. There is place to play football, volleyball, badminton and, certainly, fascinating competitions on a tourist obstacle course. The program provides following campaigns and excursions: a-foot campaign on Warm lake; a-trip on rancho "Ranch", riding on horses -alloy on the river Pinacheva on rafts, -excursion " A visit to the Kamchatka bear ";-visiting thermal springs "Hot Lakes".  Skilled professional instructors, tutors, cooks, the doctor will work with children during the whole period. The special attention is given to safety issues of children, both in camp, and on all actions.  Expected results Time spend by children and teenagers in camp will be very sated by sports and cultural-mass activities. Various activities, and direct dialogue during the summer period will allow children to reveal. They get not only real support from tutors and volunteers of Rotary club, but also will acquire vital knowledge and bases of ability to live that would not be possible to do in the city.  Expected results of camp work are:- carrying out of improvement of children involved by a life in years camp, by a high-grade feed, vitaminization, and also visiting of thermal sources;- carrying out of children's sports competitions by various kinds of sports: volleyball, sports orientation, badminton; - development and propagation of a healthy way of life; - children will receive necessary skills for a life in wood conditions: will receive to put tents, to make routes of campaigns, to float on rafts, to cook food on the nature, etc.; - Decrease in a level of teenagers’ offence during carrying out of years camp;- Exception of cases of reception spirits, narcotics children, being camp; - Attraction of teachers’ attention, art workers to the organization of summer leisure for children; - Display from adults most the vigorous activity on work with children and teenagers;- Growth of children’s interest to studying tourism and the culture. The camp will gather up to 20 children (depending on an financing). It is not a big part of children who live on the territory of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky. But for each of them this tourist camp will become a place of well-being, health and happiness in their lost and forgotten world of the childhood. Project budget

 The rest of sum is needed for the salary of instructors (the tutors, the instructors, the cook, the nurse), living expenses, transfer (from Petropavlovsk-Kamchatka up to the tourist camp and back).
